One More Weekend With Books

Last week end,i had time to read 2 books. Both are of the author "Sudha Murthy".

One is "The Day I stopped Drinking Milk".
This was disappointed me because i expected something more.
But this is the experiences of the author.
Some were really good. I liked "Secret lessons of life", "Story of three ponds" and "Bombay to Bangalore".
From these things, we can understand the helping nature of the author and her interests in travel and history.
Little learning was there.

And the other book is "Dollar Bahu". The story was not a different one, it was almost like so many stories whatever i have read in my mother tongue. But still i liked the story and explanation.
I liked Vinuta's character and its simplicity.
Sudha Murthy is always fond of the flowers "Bakula" and "Parijatha", i observed this in all her novels which i read. But still the explanation was nice.
In this also, i observed, mostly the beauty of north Karnataka was explained more.
I was thinking why she is explaining more about that. But even if i start to write something, first i will think from my native's perspective only. That is not because we want to boast. But we can explain nicely what we know about something in detail.

Thanks to Sudha Murthy for these books..

Happy Week ahead..

Vaanadhi.

Thats the way we met

Last weekend i have read a novel named "That's the way we met"
For about 150 pages, there is no difference in story
In 50th page i was thinking, till now what had happened "Two loving couples are having good time"
In 100 th page  i was thinking, till now what had happened "Two loving couples are having good time"
In 150 th page also, i felt  "Two loving couples are having good time" :)
Till end, i dint understand the relationship between the title and the story.
The beauty of Mumbai and North India is explained nicely.

I think that this story is continuation of the author's first novel. I have to read and try to understand.

Anyhow, i had a good time.
This was long weekend for festival.

Diwali wishes!!!
Be happy and Enjoy.

Gently Falls the Bakula

I enjoyed last week end, by reading the book "Gently Falls the Bakula" by Sudha Murthy.
The story and narration was very nice..
Story goes like, two young intelligent students are getting married by affection and how they are leading their life together..
Sudha Murthy's knowledge about Indian history is quite interesting i felt, that is what reflected through the character "Shrimathi".
I liked so many things in this story.. Liked Shrimathi's character so much..
Liked the narration about north Karnataka
I was not knowing why there is separate name called "North Karnataka", there was a historical, yes i can say, explanation for that..
After reading this novel, i am tempted to visit "North Karnataka". Need to plan for a trip.
And want to have that "Dharwad Peda". Though i am in Bangalore for around 5 years, i have never tasted this sweet.
Need to search in some sweet shops.

Other than these things, the subject of the story also was good, i can say it as very good..
How Indian ladies are sacrificing their interests and aims for their family and husband's success..
Kudos to all those great women, who is not even remembered as a helping person by the family members themselves.
Thanks to Sudha Mrthy.

Life is Simple and for a small time.. We need to live it for our own interests..
Be Happy!!
